I ran warm water over the outside of the stainless cylinder base and then let it sit for a few minutes so that I could remove the mold. Other than being limited to one at a time, I have no complaints. It's so much easier to use than some of the trays that are practically impossible to pull apart! It is a huge chunk of ice, and it does work better with tap vs. purified or distilled as stated in the instructions. For whatever reason they come out more clear, which is also the case if you use water that's slightly warm. A great product! No more diluted cocktails! I keep my extras in a scent free silicone freezer bag so they won't absorb freezer odors.
