The ice maker in my fridge stopped being able to eject cubes and would just thump endlessly while trying to. I replaced the entire icemaker with this unit (I checked to make sure it was the right part) and it works like a champ. Just make sure that after you've installed it you check to make sure that the water spout that fills it (flexible rubber type material) is where it's suppose to be and not crumpled, ask me how I know.
